The Arts Trust
Stephen donates a lot of his performance fees to The Arts Trust who in-turn pass 100% of the fees directly to individuals in need or to nominated charities. The Arts Trust is a new contemporary performing arts company operating from Sotogrande and Gibraltar, working in partnership with The Victoria & David Beckham Children's Charity and the Sotogrande International School. All performance monies and ticket sales taken by The Arts Trust goes directly to charity. Once you have booked Stephen, The Arts Trust will write to you outlining how the organisation intends to use Stephen's fee.
Raising money for children’s charities in Andalucia
Christmas 2007 Stephen raised 1.800€ in performance fees. He asked the 21 children in the Casa Abril Children’s orphanage to write a Christmas wish list. Stephen and his wife Lisa bought every item on the list, which included scalextrics, football shirts, cosmetics, trainers with the wheels on, ipod’s, cameras and playstation games. Pictured are Stephens own children delivering the presents outside the children’s home.
Fundraising that tugs on the heart strings
Stephen presenting a computer for mother of two who became completely blind over night and lost her job following this traumatic time in her life. Given that she had two young children she needed to work but could not do so without a specialist computer and software that talks to the user. Stephen played 11 pieces of romantic Spanish music at a charity dinner and raised the 3000 euros required to buy the computer and software.
The Victoria & David Beckham Children’s Charity
By agreement with Victoria & David Beckham Stephen has performed a number of recitals for The Victoria & David Beckham Children’s Charity. Victoria & David’s charity then direct the monies to children who have mobility issues. The money goes toward electric wheel chairs and trikes. This continues to be a major part of Stephens work and 25% of all major stage performances ticket sales profits are donated to this worthy cause.
Raising money for the animals
The Zoo in Casellar near Gibraltar is a charity Zoo. What essentially happens is that the Port Police in Spain, who confiscate animals that are being illegally imported from Africa into the EU, send the criminals back to Africa but send the animals to the Castellar Zoo for Fransciso to look after. He also rescues animals and saved two bears from becoming homeless. Stephen presented a recital of traditional Spanish Classics in Sotogrande and donated all the money to the Zoo to help fund the animal care.
Launch of Solidarity Fund
The Solidarity Fund was launched at the Garrison Library in Gibraltar last April. The launch attracted many top financial services personalities who support the organisation, which promotes a special fund that both generates income and provides a portion of this directly to specific charitable work. There was a relaxed atmosphere at the launch as drinks were served and people enjoyed the guitar playing of Stephen Greenwood (who contributed his services as a gift to the charitable affair).
Helping the homeless
In association with the stage production firm Dance Works, Stephen recently played on stage at the Palacio de Congresso Spain in front of an audience of 400 people to raise money for Nuevo Futoro and The Seva trust.
